Today we want to tackle one of our other most frequently asked questions: "How much does appliance repair cost in Victoria BC?"

We charge an initial $95 diagnosis fee (used to be $75 in 2024) to determine what's wrong with your appliance, and then this fee goes towards your final bill for the repair, which typically ranges from $180 to $230 on average per appliance in Victoria BC. 

Additional info: Appliance repair should always cost less than 50% of the cost of purchasing a new appliance, if you wish to save the most money long-term. This is what we call the "50% rule". A dryer that runs and will not heat. A dishwasher sitting in water. An oven that will not bake. Most repair jobs, when a failed part is the culprit, are the jobs that cluster in that $180 to $230 average.

Sometimes it is even simpler. We have written before about repairs that were just a drain hose, a clogged filter, or a single wire. On those visits the diagnosis is the repair. You pay the trip to have someone who knows what they are looking at put the machine back together, you get the free 1 year warranty, and you do not pay for a part you never needed. That is the version of “affordable” we actually mean.

If the honest recommendation is replacement instead of repair, we will say that too. A dead compressor on an old fridge, a cracked washer tub, or a control board that costs more than half a new machine is not a victory if we talk you into it. Fast and affordable only works if the appliance is worth putting money into.

What is included after you approve the repair
Once we fix the appliance, the work comes with a free 1 year warranty. If you are not satisfied, or if the same repaired issue comes back within a year, we come back and do the repair again for free. That warranty is on every service we complete, not a limited 90-day promise buried in the fine print.
